Owen is 30 weeks old today. He has mostly recovered from the flu and continues enjoy exploring new foods like bananas and sweet potatoes.

Owen is 29 weeks old today. This week we started experimenting with solids other than rice cereal. He had applesauce and bananas for the first time. He likes applesauce and loves bananas.

Owen is 28 weeks old today. The big development this week is he was diagnosed with the flu on Thursday afternoon. Since it is believed to be too early for seasonal flu, the probability he contracted H1N1, or swine flu, is high.
The pediatrician prescribed 1.6 mL of a Tamiflu syrup twice per day for five days. We also have him on infant Tylenol to help ease the aches and reduce his fever which got up to 103° Thursday evening. Owen appears to be doing much better. His fever subsided by Friday morning and he is not as clingy; his runny nose and watery eyes have mostly disappeared and he has a healthier appetite. TB and I also have Tamiflu prescriptions—capsules once/day for ten days—and so far neither of us are experiencing flu symptoms. You cannot tell from his pictures this week just how sick he has been. Owen is a real trooper and he has an amazing mom.
